City & Guilds-accredited Legionella training
Socotec, formerly ESG, the provider of testing, inspection, and compliance services, has recently been accredited by City & Guilds for Legionella training.
To gain accreditation, it was assessed by an external quality assurer to ensure it could provide evidence that the training programmes met the City & Guilds quality benchmark criteria. The company is now City & Guilds accredited for three Legionella training courses. The first, the one-day Responsible Persons course, is ‘client focused’, providing duty holders and those with management responsibilities with essential information on guidance, legislation, risk assessing, and the role of the Responsible Person, while the General Awareness Course, run over half a day, provides ‘a basic introduction to Legionella management and control’, including the legal and technical requirements to ensure that water systems are maintained safely. Finally, the basic awareness and enduser training – a one-hour course - is ‘a short, but detailed introduction to Legionella management and the importance of usage evaluation and flushing’.
