Evac+Chair reaches 10,000

Evac+Chair, the emergency evacuation chair manufacturer, has reached the significant 10,000 customer mark.

Demand for evacuation chairs is gathering pace as tighter health and safety regulations are coming into force with the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 (RRO) and the Disability Discrimination Act (DDA) requiring building owners to have a means of evacuating people with mobility difficulties, the company says.

The Evac+Chair fits the bill as it enables a single user to evacuate a person of up to 150 kg quickly and easily. The product is made to high specification and quality levels in the company’s Birmingham factory and has been approved under the stringent TÜV GS German quality standard which covers not only the product but the factory production process too. This safety and quality mark only appears on products that have been evaluated, tested and approved for safety by an independent third party and includes tests on payload, tilt and kinetics of the evacuation chairs.
