Brandon Medical says its latest Mediclean ultraclean ventilation system improves patient safety and surgical outcomes ‘by providing unique benefits’ to hospital designers, surgical staff, estates teams, and maintenance engineers.
The company said: “Brandon recommends complanate systems that fit completely flush to suspended ceilings without the need for air deflectors or side screens because they simplify positioning operating lights, pendants, and imaging equipment without obstruction or collision damage. With an air curtain, no side screens or Coanda air deflectors, and no protruding enclosure, our Mediclean complanate UCV system gives freedom for surgical excellence.”
Brandon added: “Our patented Continuous Particle Monitoring measures airborne particles in real-time, and uses simple visual alarms. Clinical staff can ‘see’ when the air isn’t clean due to entrainment or surgical smoke, and take steps to protect themselves and their patients.”
Mediclean Continuous Particle Monitoring automatically increases airflow ‘to quickly flush out airborne particles and surgical smoke as soon as they are detected’. Alarm thresholds can be set by the user, while data logging records the air quality during each procedure. Mediclean ‘can be configured for virtually any application’ – from hybrid theatres, to low ceiling spaces and side screen systems. The CE marked system uses triple filtered air.
