Materials handling made easy

When Longreach House Psychiatric Hospital contacted materials handling specialist MasterMover recently, the hospital was impressed to find a pedestrian operated tug unit that could solve two issues it had with roll cage movement.

Like many hospitals Longreach House had difficulty moving roll cages in confined corridors but also needed to solve the problem of moving cages manually on inclines – an obvious health and safety issue. “The MasterTug has aided in minimising risk of injury to staff when moving laundry cages,” said hospital locality manager, Juliette Prouse.

“It also allows staff to manoeuvre cages up and down an incline which has limited access. The compact size of the equipment was suitable in helping us overcome our access problem.” One of the main features of the MasterTug is that it can rotate 90 degrees either side of the payload allowing the conveyance to turn on its axis and manoeuvre with ease.
