Silver protection to combat HAIs

BioCote works with leading healthcare companies to offer a wide range of equipment, instruments and furniture that has built-in antimicrobial protection against “superbugs” such as MRSA, Legionella, E. coli, Salmonella and Aspergillus niger (black mould).

In the same way silver is used in catheters and wound dressings to reduce the risks of infection, BioCote incorporates silver into standard healthcare products to inhibit the growth of bacteria on their surface, making them less likely to cause cross-contamination.

Over a 24 hour period BioCote protected products have the ability to reduce levels of bacteria on surfaces by up to 99.9%. With less bacteria present, the potential for cross-contamination reduces.

BioCote is available on a wide range of products including doors, door handles, cubicle curtains, beds, taps, tiling and even medical notes.
