BSI has launched a certification scheme and supporting training courses designed to help organisations develop, implement, and maintain, effective facilities management across all operations.
ReseachAndMarkets’ Global Facility Management Market Report: 2018-2023 Analysis & Forecasts, says the global facility management market was valued at US$ 31.96 billion in 2017, and should reach a market value of US$ 64.5 billion by 2023.
This new scheme, part of BSI’s wider Built Environment offering, is based on the international standard, ISO 41001 Facility management – Management systems – Requirements with guidance for use. To achieve certification, organisations undergo an independent assessment, including a rigorous on-site audit covering all the requirements of ISO 41001.
BSI explained: “ISO 41001 recognises the value that facilities management delivers as part of an organisation’s strategic direction. It provides guidance on how to manage the life cost and usability of assets, services, and obligations, to workspace users, and on controlling the environmental impacts of operations.”
