SHJ Medical Gas Specialists has appointed James Forgan as its Service manager.
Joining the company last November, he brought over two decades’ experience in medical engineering, including in running the aftermarket business of one of the world’s leading medical gas pipeline systems suppliers, and the service department of a medical decontamination specialist.
He started his career as a Service and Installation engineer for a specialist alarm company, progressing to Installation manager, and then general manager. During his time there, he managed multiple teams, worked with many different departments to ensure target installation dates were adhered to, and planned and scheduled approximately 50 installations at any one time. He was then appointed Service manager at one of the industry’s largest medical gas suppliers, serving in the role for seven years, and growing the department’s turnover by over 50%, while maintaining the company’s reputation for quality and service.
Before starting with SHJ, he further developed his skills as a Service manager, in a role where he managed an engineering and support team of 35, and increased turnover ‘by double digits year-onyear’, whilst improving key performance indicators.
SHJ said: “James’s experience has provided him with a thorough understanding of medical gases, and skills in project management, managing staff and customer relations, building a strong commercial awareness, and planning at a strategic level.”
