Doors score at chemotherapy facility

Crown cut American Cherry veneer doors from Leaderflush Shapland’s Designer range, featuring the company’s new EnduraCor fireretardant facing and flaxboard core, now feature at specialist chemotherapy centre at University Hospital Aintree, Liverpool funded by ex-Liverpool footballer Kenny Dalglish and his wife, Marina.

Marina Dalglish was successfully treated at the hospital for breast cancer, having been diagnosed with the illness in March 2003 and, in gratitude, established the Marina Dalglish Appeal with her husband. Over £1.15 m of the £1.5 m already raised to supplement the region’s cancer services has gone to the Marina Dalglish Centre, a former special baby care unit transformed into a stateof- the-art cancer treatment facility.

Thoroughly tested, the new “costeffective, versatile and stable” EnduraCor door core technology is said to bring considerable benefits to designers, specifiers and end users by allowing larger areas of glazing to be incorporated with the construction. All materials are either FSC-accredited or FSC-neutral.
