Radiant panels provide clean heating solution

Solray radiant panels from Comyn Ching & Co are providing the hygienic, low maintenance heating on landmark PFI hospital project, the James Cook University Hospital, part of the South Tees Hospitals NHS Trust.

The radiant panels have the key advantage of being installed within the ceiling, thus eliminating the bacteria and dirt ridden corners, ledges and joints of conventional wall radiators. In addition, the air quality for staff, patient and visitors is high, in part due to the reduced levels of dust movement generated by radiant panel heating. At the same time, the maintenance team at the hospital are benefiting from panels which feature a wipe clean surface for easy cleaning. The panels are also enabling the hospital to operate as efficiently as possible. They are discretely hidden as ceiling strips in each building, thus optimising the amount of wall and floor space that can be used by the hospital, while also achieving a clean-looking interior finish.
