GHG invests £5 million in iSOFT systems

Australia’s largest listed health information technology company, IBA Health Group, has announced that one of the UK’s leading independent healthcare services providers, General Healthcare Group (GHG), is to license and implement iSOFT’s patient management systems at its 47 BMI Healthcare private acute care hospitals and Netcare UK centres in a deal worth £5 million over six years.

The agreement also provides the framework for licensing and implementation of additional iSOFT products.

As a part of the contract, GHG has appointed iSOFT as a “strategic health information technology partner”, and as its preferred supplier for clinical IT systems, to include order communications and results reporting components.

GHG is upgrading to iSOFT’s i.PM Patient Administration System as part of an overhaul of IT systems and infrastructure. The GHG group will implement i.PM across its national network of BMI Healthcare hospitals and its Netcare UK centres, integrating patient management, billing and back-office functionality within a single software suite.

IBA says i.PM will streamline GHG’s current patient administration processes, reduce its dependency on paper records, and incorporate core theatre and billing data into a single electronic record.
