A series of one-day seminars designed to cover the latest updates to regulations relating to wiring and the use of electricity on healthcare premises is being planned by IHEEM for September and October.
- The Wiring Regs, published in 2008 BS7671 (The IEE Wiring Regulations), are the national standard to which all domestic and industrial wiring must confirm. The 17th edition contains substantial changes to align with European documents.
- Guidance Note 7, published in 2004, covers all special locations including medical locations.
- Meigan: This document is for use by healthcare organisations and medical device suppliers responsible for permanent electrical installation of medical devices and associated equipment in diagnostic imaging (including dental x-ray units) and radiotherapy rooms/suites. It is designed for use by staff with electrical knowledge.
Provisional seminar dates are: London: 9 or 10 September. Birmingham: 16/17 or 18 September. Glasgow: 30 September / 1 or 2 October. Actual dates and venues to be confirmed soon.
