BridgeHead Software says its new PACStore archiving product will “help reduce the accelerating storage hardware and management burden imposed by the long-term retention and protection of PACS medical image data”.
Charles Mallio, director, business development, Healthcare Sector, BridgeHead Software, said: “By keeping stored images accessible, the system also reduces the risk when migrating from one system to another, and provides a separate data access route should a short-term operational disaster affect a PACS system.”
PACStore automatically moves data onto the appropriate storage media based on how available it needs to be.
The most current, active image data stays on the most highly available primary storage, with less frequently viewed static data moved to alternative, lower cost media.
