DDA-compliant balustrading

Kee Safety’s Kee Access range of cast iron fittings are designed to help satisfy the requirements of the Disability Discrimination Act (DDA) and Building Regulations Pt.M:2004 when designing and constructing balustrading and handrailing for commercial and public buildings.

The Act specifies that all commercial and public building owners should provide nondiscriminatory balustrading and handrailing on stairways and ramps.

The Building Regulations recommend an outside diameter tube size for installations of 40-45 mm. Kee Access components are specifically designed to give a smooth handrail with size 7 tube (outside diameter of 42.4 mm), ensuring compatibility with the DDA recommendations.

Seventeen new fittings, designed to be quick and easy to install, are available while, for retrofitting, an “add-on” offset fitting allows the addition of a new handrail onto an existing structure of appropriate size.

The Kee Access range can be easily augmented with components from the established Kee Klamp range to create a complete, cost-effective answer to DDA requirements.

Each fitting comes with the choice of powder coating in all of the RAL colours available.
