Yorkon will present the latest off-site construction innovations, including developments for its modular building system, including a wider range of glazing, cladding and roofing options, “allowing more architectural variety than ever before” for new hospital facilities built off-site.
The new options for “greener” modular buildings offer significant environmental benefits, such as the use of renewable energy sources, reduced energy consumption and waste, lower carbon emissions, and greater recyclability. Optional features include solar thermal heating, solar photovoltaics, passive ventilation, combined heat and power systems, ground source heat pumps, green roofs, biomass boilers, and rainwater harvesting.
The new design pack, developed to help architects and contractors work with off-site construction, and available in interactive PDF format, contains a comprehensive guide to steel-framed modular construction, module size ranges, and options for staircases and lifts. For CAD users, easy-to-use files should help architects develop a building design for a specific healthcare project, and produce fast, accurate drawings.
Expanded design options for the external envelope include ribbon windows and claddings, composite metal panels, terracotta tiles, render and brickwork.
