Legionella risk ‘eradicated’

ARI-Armaturen has supplied its “trusted” heat exchanger package to Dumfries and Galloway Royal Infirmary.

“We knew we had to replace the old system because it was inefficient to run and required a yearly pressure test survey,” said Ian Bryden, head of estates and property. “We found ARI’s system offered running cost savings and was very competitively priced.”

ARI’s heat exchanger system offers a compact solution for heat transfer requirements, for generating both domestic hot water and low temperature hot water from either steam or medium temperature hot water.

Occupying less than 1m2, with low capital cost and low maintenance requirements, the heat exchanger package is “ideal” for small plant rooms. The primary circuit is permanently charged, meaning no risk of water standing within the unit at a low temperature, thus eradicating the risk of Legionella.

ARI-Armaturen’s heat exchanger package includes standard equipment the company says differentiates itself from competitors and ensures high performance.

A full isolation package of high quality bellows-sealed stop valves for the primary circuit, and circuit lined butterfly valves for the second circuit, comes as standard, as do “clean in place” connectors to simplify maintenance. A self-acting high temperature cut-out prevents overheating.
