Zentia, a UK specialist in complete ceiling solutions, has spent £2 million on upgrades and refurbishments at its two manufacturing sites in Team Valley, Gateshead, in an investment that reflects its commitment to UK manufacturing.
At its grid plant on the Team Valley site, Zentia has opened an Innovation Centre. This new facility includes a spacious conference area for up to 60 people, featuring a thoughtfully-designed ceiling grid that highlights Zentia’s latest product innovations. The centre also offers two smaller meeting rooms, accommodating six and 10 people. All the space is available free to local companies within the industry to host their own events, and Zentia also regularly uses the venue to host lunch and learns, present CPDs, and hold other exciting events.
Zentia has also completed renovations at its mineral fibre plant at the second Team Valley site – where upgrades include new windows, a modern meeting room, an attractive reception area, an updated security zone, and a new staff canteen. Throughout the facility, elements of Zentia’s state-of-the-art ceiling tiles are prominently featured. The company says it is all part of its CapEx project to bring most of its manufacturing ‘in house’ as an ongoing commitment to focus on investing in the UK market and creating local jobs.
Zentia manufactures a wide range of mineral ceiling tiles, suspension grids, and floating ceiling systems. Evolved from Armstrong Ceilings, it says it ‘leverages over 100 years of knowledge and experience to offer high-quality products’. It says its ceiling tiles, offer the market’s largest standard colour selection and can meet a range of acoustic, fire, and hygiene requirements.
The £2 m investment is part of Zentia’s broader initiative to support UK manufacturing, building on the £37 invested since 2020.
