Specialised range of clinical ventilation solutions on show

Air Sentry will be showing its specialised range of clinical ventilation solutions – which are widely used across all clinical areas within the NHS, with installations dating back to 2003 – in Manchester.

The systems are also widely used by the Ministry of Justic for medical areas in prisons. Air Sentry describes its  Air Purification System as ‘a true system able to both interface to HVAC, or operate in a standalone capacity’. The company said: “Our approach is purpose-designed for existing clinical areas to supplement both naturally and mechanically ventilated areas. The ULPA15-based design safely removes all known pathogens from the air, and is ideally suited for HCID (high consequence infection disease) planning. The filtration system can also remove NOx, VOCs, and most reactive anaesthetic agents, and be used for pressure both positive and negative pressure differential.”

The Genesis low level extract unit, meanwhile, is a rapid ‘fit and forget’ low level extract approach which standardises low level extract installation. The same unit can be specified to include a level of recirculation, and can also accept supply air. The units can be mid-wall or corner configured, and offer an easy temporary solution for construction works where indoor air environments need to have airborne risk fully mitigated.

Aristotle is an electronic system on which development began in 2018. Air Sentry said: “Imagine an extensive AHU control system married with a distal sensing IAQ monitoring system. Aristotle can command and control any ventilation-related parameter, including full data logging, with a 25-year data retention capability. Importantly, it ensures data integrity, and ownership stays within the client’s control. The system can be deployed in any ventilation scenario, and is truly agnostic. As long as there is space to fit the sensing technology, the unit can be used for any purpose – including helping upgrade older AHUs to modern standards when DC controlled electronically commutated motors are installed.

“The most exciting aspect of Aristotle, however, lies in the development roadmap. Today it can offer absolute awareness and risk mitigation for air within any built environment – including for both air-transferred pathogens and general air pollution, i.e. N2O, NOx, and PM 2.5 etc.”

Air Sentry says it is developing disease risk alerting within the same platform, to help its customers prevent and control seasonal outbreaks. It said: “When Aristotle is combined with the new high efficacy NOx filter, the indoor air quality of any clinical area can be assured.”

The company also offers the Elgin Bay range of UVC germicidal units for existing AHUs, which it says ‘assure a log 4 reduction for any AHU output’. Its range also includes kitchen extract hoods, with products aimed at reducing fat deposition and conversion to demand led ventilation. Air Sentry says the latter can offer return on investment in as little as 18 months.
