Southend University Hospital has worked with interior surfaces specialist Altro to create 68 hand gel stations at the hospital, as a highly visible reminder to staff, patients and visitors to “always clean your hands”.
The eye-catching bright red gel stations feature a combination of text and graphics that provide a simple, step-by-step guide to using the hand gel correctly. They are made from Altro Whiterock Digiclad, a “unique” surface that allowed the hospital to print its bespoke graphics directly onto the product. Durable cured inks mean even the abrasive alcohol gel will not cause the artwork to discolour. Altro Whiterock is said to be easy to clean and resistant to wear and tear, and offers high standards of fire performance, meeting Class 0 Building Regulations classifications. A semi-rigid hygienic, low-maintenance PVCu wall cladding that is stain, chemical spillage and impact-resistant, Whiterock has a seamless finish that “provides fewer areas for bacteria and moisture to accumulate”.
