Stronger washbasin material

A “perfect combination of strength, hygiene and performance, making it very well suited to healthcare environments”, are the key features claimed for a new composite washbasin material from Franke Sissons.

Made of 80% natural minerals, plus a high quality polyester resin, Miranit is “extremely durable and will not craze or crack with prolonged use”. It is formable into any shape, even when thin material thicknesses are required. Fractureresistant, it has a smooth, pore-free, high gloss, non-abrasive exterior skin offering good acid and alkali resistance. There are currently three standard ranges produced; Quadro (pictured) and Ronda are designed to make optimum use of space, with the standard unit width of the new single washbasin just 600 mm. The washbasins are Alpine Whitecoloured and “contemporarily” designed, with a seamless bowl, without overflow. Taking its inspiration from the lotus flower leaf, the Lotos bowls are made from a material just 10 mm thick. There are three designs, with a choice of attractive round and hexagonal styles. All three ranges are available with “no touch” fittings.
