Nightingale Associates has been shortlisted for a regional RIBA design award for its £4 m Renal & Cardiac Unit at West Wales General Hospital in Carmarthen.
The 1,300 m2 unit contains 26 dialysis stations and four isolation suites, a cardiac rehabilitation department, a rehab gym, testing suites, and staff administration. The project is one of six shortlisted entries for the Welsh region in the 2009 awards, the results of which will be announced on 21 May. RIBA judges will visit the development prior to the ceremony. Run annually since 1966, the RIBA Awards were established to recognise “buildings that have made a substantial contribution to the local environment”
