With the recent Care Quality Commission (CQC) report commending “the majority of NHS trusts for improving infection control”, while urging Trusts to “remain vigilant and strive for further improvement”, training provider to the NHS Eastwood Park is to stage a one-day seminar, “Infection Control – The Good, the Bad and the Ugly”, on 9 June at its Falfield, Gloucestershire training centre.
The seminar will address the CQC’s recent audit and report; examine the areas where infection rates have been reduced/risen; and discuss the new HPA guidance on C. difficile, plus opportunities for future improvements in infection prevention. Attendees will also be able to view the training facility’s new sluice room training facilities (above) where newly developed courses on the topic will take place. City & Guilds has recently launched the new Level 2 Award in Infection Prevention and Control. Eastwood Park plans to run this in conjunction with its “Prevention of Infection in the Sluice Room” course, enabling students to gain a double City & Guilds Award.
