IHEEM is to create a series of Technology Platforms which will act as a focus group on technology matters, create policy on technology issues, advise the Institute’s Council and guide members on significant issues arising, and manage technical responses and activities.
The Platforms will also assist the Education Committee with relevant seminars. Each Platform will comprise a network of experts, and include a leading practitioner and at least two contributors knowledgeable in the field. Disciplines covered will be: architecture and design of the built environment; resilience and sustainability; decontamination; medical gases; medical devices; procurement, and specialist engineering The Platforms will also promote and support technical papers, which can be printed in Health Estate Journal, and provide comment on HTMs, HBNs and other Department of Health and Devolved Authority guidance. Governed by the Technology Platform Committee, each will communicate via the internet, but will also arrange meetings if required.
