German “flooring care” company Dr Schutz describes its new “PU Design” product as “an innovative solution that quickly and easily transforms tired, damaged or old vinyl, linoleum or rubber floors at a fraction of the time and cost of a floor replacement”.
Application is a three-stage process: the original floor is first thoroughly cleaned and stripped to remove all dirt and old polish, after which the new colour layer is applied. There are ten standard colours and 200 RAL variants available to special order. At this point colour chips, logos, signage or corporate branding can be inserted if desired. Lastly, one layer of PU 100 sealant is applied to give a hard-wearing finish and protection. Once in place, the floor is preserved via simple routine maintenance and with general cleaning and a coat of PU Sealer once every 2-3 years.
