Douglas Delabie says that, “with an alarming 5 –12% of patients in Europe each year contracting a nosocomial infection” its new “specialist” water controls are “sure to be of interest for healthcare professionals”.
The range includes removable “Bioclip” mixers/taps, where each tap / mixer is supplied with two demountable spouts to enable continuous use, while the contaminated spout is removed for effective sterilisation. The spouts are designed to allow connection to sterilisation filters. The Bioclip tap/spout features antistagnation action – a system which “self-drains” after use, preventing water stagnation and bacteria build-up within fittings. It can be removed from its base for disinfection tempering with cold bactericidal solutions. Also available are high spout electronic mixers/taps and long lever mixers to enable effective hand washing in line with surgical hand washing protocols. These non-touch electronic taps feature anti-Legionella duty flush – which activates automatic draining to prevent water stagnation and bacteria development in supply pipes, infrared presence detection, and thermostatic mixing valves.
