Vanguard Healthcare will bring what it dubs “the world’s largest problem-solving toolkit” to Healthcare Estates 2009 – a 25-tonne mobile operating theatre.
The unit is part of a national fleet of mobile theatres, wards, clinics, endoscopy and day surgery facilities delivering flexible services that Vanguard says “allow the NHS to unlock the potential of the estate”. The company said: “Mobile healthcare facilities are fast becoming a top solution for facilities managers to tackle the pressure of waiting times, maintain care during refurbishment, and respond to emergency needs. Vanguard’s fleet has enabled NHS Trusts and PCTs to improve patient services by making best use of the estate – helping to remove more than 115,000 patients from waiting lists in the process.” While onboard, visitors will also be able to watch Vanguard’s new video explaining how its mobile facilities provide a rapid response to a range of healthcare demands.
