ISO 9001:2000-accredited Fendor’s track record includes manufacturing and installing high security windows and glazing systems for the Broadmoor, Carstairs, and Rampton facilities.
Its “anti-contraband” window provides “unrivalled ventilation and visibility”, while simultaneously eliminating any possibility of contraband or other objects being passed through it. Two sliding windows, one aluminium, and the other steel, feature a unique clutch-controlled open and close system designed to prevent even the most determined patient overcoming the security by repeatedly forcing the mechanism. Also shown will be an electronic control sliding window controllable via a simple “on/off” switch or remotely, with particular benefits when used where patients might try to self-harm using the force of an opening or closing window. Developed with Northumbria University, it is believed to be a healthcare sector first.
