British shielding company EEP describes itself as “a total services provider dedicated to protecting equipment and people against the threat posed by radio frequency interference (RFI) and the harmful effects of ionising radiation”.
It also specialises in magnetic shielding and quench pipe discharge systems. EEP said: “Today, ever more sensitive equipment and stringent standards of health physics safety combine to demand smarter, more practical technical solutions to the shielding problem. We design, manufacture and install complete shielding systems to satisfy the specific needs of client and contractor.” The company’s healthcare work falls into two main categories: RFI and magnetic field shielding for MRI scanners; and radiation protection associated with PET/CT scanner suites, X-ray rooms, tomotherapy facilities, brachytherapy theatres, radiotherapy centres, and linear accelerators. EEP’s newest development is a “low-energy” dimmable, flickerless LED lighting package designed specifically for MRI room applications.
