Mansell has been awarded a contract valued at in excess of £10 million to construct a new Children’s and Young Person’s Centre at The Royal Marsden Hospital in Sutton, Surrey.
The project will involve the construction of a new two-storey ward block that includes a dedicated treatment facility for teenagers and young people and the refurbishment of the existing Children’s Unit, to provide enhanced outpatient and day care facilities. The new building will be fitted with 400 m2 of photovoltaic cells. The work will be completed in two phases. Construction on phase one has recently commenced on site and will be completed in July 2010, while phase two will commence in August 2010 and is scheduled to complete in February 2011. In 2007 Mansell completed a £10 m project to upgrade radiotherapy facilities at the hospital.
