Fitted furniture from David Bailey Furniture Systems valued at around £1 million has been installed in collaboration with Carillion during a major PFI redevelopment at the Queen Alexandra Hospital in Portsmouth involving the construction of new facilities that will focus acute hospital services on the site.
Furniture valued at £700,000 from the company’s Healthline range, including durable base and wall storage cupboards, easy-clean worktops, and adjustable shelving, has been installed in clinical areas and pantries, with a “cool and fresh” colour scheme, combining china blue doors and white worktops, chosen for the base and wall storage units. Bespoke reception desks worth around £300,000 were also supplied for the reception and waiting room areas. This included the installation of 101 stylish nursing stations, featuring a range of curved and angular reception counters.
