‘Built to last’ with Bauclad

CEP Claddings supplied the cladding for the new City Care Centre in Peterborough, recently opened as part of the £335 million Greater Peterborough Health Investment Plan. (HEJ – September 2009).

The modern building was finished with a combination of curved render and rainscreen panels by CEP Claddings to complement its glazed façade. The decorative rainscreen cladding chosen comprised 6 mm Bauclad panels in Woodgrain “Sun Pear”shade, Sika sitebonded to an aluminium support frame. Project architect Anthony Keats of Nightingale Associates said: “Key features of the building are the sweeping rendered curved blocks with accentuating timber pressurised laminate panels, coloured rendered panels, and overhanging roofs.” The 9,000 m2 centre was constructed by Brookfield Construction, which is developing three sites for the NHS Trust. Built on the Peterborough District Hospital site in the city centre, the two-storey City Care Centre will provide services including in-patient rehabilitation, X-ray and diagnostics, minor treatments, community services, and outpatient clinics.
