P2W is a web-based permit to work a contractor management system developed by GEMsoft7 which functions as a management tool for planned and reactive maintenance work. P2W streamlines work procedures and ensures safe systems of work. GEMsoft7 is a new IHEEM company affiliate.
Working with experienced health and safety consultants, GEMsoft7 developed P2W to meet HSE requirements for ensuring safe systems of work using an electronic Permit to Work system. GEMsoft7 is now working with leading players in the NHS, and in food manufacturing, transport and energy sectors, helping them to implement efficient and safe systems of work.
P2W allows:
· Organisations to define permits to meet hazards and controls particular to their environments.
· Organisations to adapt permits to meet their authorisation processes.
· Engineering and facilities managers a real time and auditable view of what work is planned or in progress, who is involved, and where it is being carried out. It gives them confidence that tasks are being conducted in a safe manner.
As P2W is web–based, real time information is available from any location. P2W provides a full audit trail for each job and enforces adherence to company H&S and authorisation processes.
GEMsoft7 has recently implemented P2W for the Estates Directorate at NHS Grampian, allowing it to replace its paper-based permit system for contractors and employees. P2W is now providing them with a full audit trail of work and permits and an electronic repository for all competence assessments, both contractors and employees, who work on NHS Grampian’s sites.
