Designed for a long life

A range of aluminium/timber windows, doors, and framing, designed for longevity, that combines sustainably grown FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) or PEFC (Pan European Forest Certification) timbers with “100% recyclable aluminium” has been launched by The Parkside Group.

The company points out that, as a nonconductive material, timber minimises heat loss, while, by using high performing glass, the lowest U-values are achievable. The timber façade has a standard 25-year performance guarantee. The Alu-Timber products “offer reassurance that the facade will last, with minimal maintenance, and a range of windows, doors, and framing, that can be fabricated/installed as aluminium facade products”. To construct the corner joints, the timber is cut at 45° and then sealed, so there is no exposed raw timber joint, creating reassurance rot will not set in. The Alu-Timber range includes casement, tilt and turn windows and an open-in and open-out door.
