The Saracen Waterless Urinal System, distributed exclusively by Plumb Center, is said to cut operational costs, save energy, reduce waste, and “improve the user’s washroom experience”.
The system “eliminates urinal water usage, eradicates energy usage from flush controls, and removes the need for harmful and hazardous cleaning chemicals”. It also “eradicates the build-up of limescale”, reducing both maintenance costs and the opportunity for flooding, and is said to reduce blockages that can cause urinals to overflow. A patented odour-counteracting cartridge chemically neutralises odours above the bowl, and the “unique” waste housing acts as a hygienic seal against odours emitted from within the pipework below. Plumb Center says of the system’s watersaving benefits: “A traditional urinal set to flush four times per hour can use up to £360 of drinkable water per year.”
