Lisclare says the wallmounted or mobile folding screens from Silentia that it will be showing provide a flexible means to segregate genders, “improving privacy and generally helping maintain the dignity of patients on an open ward”.
The company said: “A Silentia screen has excellent sound-absorbing properties, allowing private conversations a few feet away from the neighbouring bed. Two screens can be used to form a cubicle, affording complete privacy, and encouraging visitors to knock.” Silentia screens have a hard, cleanable surface, and can be simply wiped down, “just like any other item of ward furniture”. Patented hinges are designed not to trap dirt, and to be easily cleaned, while removable castors can be washed separately. The screens neither generate consumable waste nor require laundering.
