Further building upon its strong reputation in the healthcare sector, the Newcastle office of international project manager and cost consultant Faithful & Gould has recently been awarded a £3 million contract to build a primary healthcare facility in County Durham for one of the county’s busiest practices.
Mike Foggon, director of Faithful & Gould, said: “This project presents a particular challenge to our team as the location of the new practice is on one of the hospital’s former car parks. As this sits directly above Tinklerhill Gill which was filled in many years ago, special foundations will be needed to prevent any subsidence in the future.
“I am enjoying a close working relationship with the practice partners and I am very much looking forward to seeing the project’s completion in December 2006.”
A primary care resource centre, providing integrated general practice and community health services to the local community in Consett, the new practice will bring better access to a wider range of locally delivered health services. There will also be an increase of services traditionally provided by secondary care providers such as musculoskeletal services, minor surgery and dermatology as well as practice patients benefiting from an out of hours service from the on-site pharmacy.
