A shelving system specifically designed to provide the healthcare industry with a high density storage solution, that also features antimicrobial technology, is proving a major success, says its supplier.
Slingsby Metro is now supplying the “Top Track Storage System” to healthcare facilities UK-wide. The system comprises mobile storage units that slide from side to side on an overhead track, and requires space for just one aisle, which can be opened between any two units, meaning all the remaining space can be used for storage. The overhead tracks “eliminate the dirt and debris associated with underfoot tracks”, and will even compensate for uneven floors. Microban antimicrobial technology, built into the shelving’s removable polymer mats, inhibits bacteria, mould, mildew, and fungi growth. Dominic Slingsby, Slingsby MD, added: “The initial healthcare sector response has been fantastic. This system provides 36 per cent more storage space than conventional solutions within the same floorspace.”
