Standby power company UPS Systems has developed REMO, described as “a unique solution that provides remote monitoring for the majority of UPS, and all generators”.
The company says mounting pressure on the National Grid has resulted in more frequent power failures, with reports from Parliament suggesting that, in the past five years, businesses in England and Wales have experienced approximately 96 million unplanned power interruptions. UPS Systems said: “IT managers can use REMO to receive automatic alerts by SMS or email. REMO can monitor low fuel levels in diesel generators, battery charge levels, system temperatures and overloads, and mains grid failures and other critical information.” The company now offers REMO as standard with many of its UPS installations.
