Odyssey Bio for ARI refurbishment

Marshall-Tufflex’s Odyssey Bio antimicrobial trunking has been specified by building services engineers CCDP LLP for a refurbishment within Aberdeen Royal Infirmary. It has been installed in inpatient and outpatient radiology departments, upgraded to host a new PACS system.

Triple compartment Odyssey Bio was installed at dado level to deliver power and data to workstations, while Marshall-Tufflex Sterling PowerPoles service “islands” of desks. Niall Wood, CCDP electrical associate, said: “A lot of our clients like the Odyssey’s completely curved profile, while the antimicrobial function was an obvious benefit. Because the antimicrobial agent is an integral part of the PVC-U, we know the system’s effectiveness will not be compromised by scratches, and the agent will not rub off.” Odyssey Bio is reportedly the only all-curved trunking profile that incorporates antimicrobial silver ion technology integral to the trunking material. Tested to ISO 22196:2007, it is “proven to be 99.9% effective” against MRSA, Klebsiella pneumonia, E. coli, and Salmonella.
