Designed to help make a hospital stay less arduous for patients, Premier Telesolutions’ new EasiMedia slimline bedside patient entertainment and information terminal “combines the power of a larger terminal with the flexibility of a more compact, and unobtrusive, 10.1” touchscreen”.
The company explains that, in addition to offering multimedia entertainment services including digital IPTV Freeview, satellite, and cable television, as well as radio, Internet, and video-on-demand, the EasiMedia enables patients to send emails and instant messages, and make telephone calls (either with or without VOIP), all from a single unit. The resulting reduction in numbers of communal television sets and telephone units should help lower infection risk, while the sleek, ergonomically-designed anti-bacterial casing is designed to aid cleaning.
In addition to providing a wealth of patient features, peripherals such as keyboards, pointing, and clinical devices are connectable via the external USB port, or wirelessly via the internal Bluetooth feature.
The EasiMedia incorporates a low energy LED backlight, is ROHS-compliant, and can be supplied with optional smartcard reader, RFID functionality, and Bluetooth via USB.
