Energy and sustainability remains the biggest issue facing facilities managers, according to registration figures for the IHEEM Annual Conference. Many prospective delegates are also looking for ideas and answers on design and construction and developing the lean estate.
With six weeks to go before the Conference opens on 5 October, there has been significant interest in all seven streams - Design and Construction, Energy and Sustainability, Risk Management, Estates & Premises Management, Facilities Management, Developing the Lean Estate and Patient Safety.
With more than 30 papers spread over seven streams, the Conference has 25% more content than in 2009, making it the biggest in the event's history.
"We know that everyone is looking for ways to maintain service standards despite the pressure on budgets. It's clear that people see Healthcare Estates as the most efficient and cost-effective way to obtain expert advice and insights, and share information and experiences with their fellow professionals," says event director Hugh Robinson. "We're confident that the move to Manchester Central will make it easier for people to attend, so we're expecting to see delegates and visitors from all disciplines in both the public and private sectors, and from all parts of the country."
