Tynetec, a leading UK supplier of telecare and remote health equipment, has bought the Aid Call Healthcare division, for an undisclosed sum. Aid Call Ltd, which is wholly owned by Age Concern Enterprises, says it wishes to focus fully on the further development of its “core personal care products”.
The Aid Call Healthcare division is a well-established designer, manufacturer, installer, and maintainer, of radio-based nurse call systems for care homes and hospitals. Gordon Morris, Aid Call’s MD, said: “We have over 30 years’ experience in monitoring calls for our personal alarm service and, after full consultation, have decided to focus fully on further developing this market, with Tynetec to take on our Healthcare division. This is an important development, and in line with the core aims and objectives of our parent charity, Age UK. We have total confidence that Tynetec has the right strategy and capabilities to take this business forward into its next stage of development, and wish them every success in the future”. David Foster, commercial director for Tynetec Ltd, added: “Both businesses have excellent reputations and, through continuous innovation, have developed market-leading products. The acquisition of the Aid Call Healthcare division allows us to combine these strengths, and we will continue to develop and supply powerful telecare and remote health management and healthcare solutions.” Tynetec’s warden call systems, telecare and telehealth equipment, and access control systems, are manufactured at its Blyth, Northumberland head office.
