Specialist in validation and ventilation of operating theatres VTV Solutions has built a replica operating theatre at its Middleton, Manchester base to showcase its latest ventilation product, the Variflow, developed by engineers with over 25 years’ experience in ultraclean ventilation systems.
A system that uses “green technology” fans, the Variflow can be used in three operational settings: General Surgery, Opthalmic, and Orthopaedic, resulting in further reductions in energy consumption when not using the system for orthopaedics, while maintaining a higher grade of filtration than conventional theatres, and complying with entrainment levels as set out in HTM 03-01. Private health providers have already installed three units and ordered several more, and VTV is now hoping to secure NHS contracts.
