French manufacturer of pipework fittings and accessories GIRPI says studies show that its C-PVC HTA/SYSTEM’O material is one of the formulations used for such products that contributes least to biofilm expansion.
The company said: “Many tests have been conducted in Europe by official laboratories to evaluate the effect of biofilm formation on various types of materials. While they have shown that no one material can prevent entirely its formation, it can be restricted by good system design, and by selecting materials which help limit corrosion and scaling. For optimum results, such materials must also be able to withstand chemical treatment and temperature increases. HTA/SYSTEM’O perfectly meets these criteria.”
