Offsite construction specialist Britspace’s healthcare experience has seen it construct everything from clinical trials and medical records buildings to large-scale hospital extensions and ward blocks.
It says offsite construction is among the UK construction market’s fastestgrowing sectors, a key driver being speed. Britspace says that, using its “bespoke system”, it can replicate traditional schemes in terms of layout, appearance and specification, while projects also benefit from offsite’s “guaranteed quality, programme, and cost assurances”. A good current example is the firm’s design and build of a £16 m, five-storey ward and flagship integrated critical care unit for the Royal Sunderland Hospital, which will cater for over 1,200 patients. Estimates suggest offsite construction methods will halve the build programme.
