Gerflor’s Taralay Premium, a durable, easy-to-maintain vinyl flooring solution, has been laid in a number of rooms in the main hospital building, and in the Maternal and Foetal Wellbeing Centre, at London’s Portland Hospital.
Tim Rose, estates manager, said: “The hospital and new consulting facilities offer the very best in comfort and style, and Taralay fulfilled all the aesthetic and performance criteria we demanded.” Taralay Premium comes in two ranges – Comfort and Compact. The former is especially suited to applications requiring excellent acoustic and absorption properties, as it incorporates a Very High Density (VHD) foam yielding a 16 dB sound insulation rating, and provides “safe underfoot cushioning”. Taralay Premium Compact, meanwhile, reportedly has an outstanding resistance to static and dynamic loads, with “excellent” indentation recovery (0.03 mm), and dimensional stability. Both ranges offer “ultra-low whole lifecycle costs” – due to a UV-cured surface treatment which facilitates maintenance and permanently eliminates the need for acrylic emulsion (metallisation), alongside excellent chemical and stain resistance.
