A new HTM-compliant, nurse call system upgrade from Static Systems Group is said to fulfil many hospitals’ need to update and improve their systems “while staying within tight cash constraints”.
Features include the latest RNIB–endorsed waterproof patient hand unit, reduced maintenance costs, and extended lifecycle. The upgrade, which can be carried out to existing nurse call systems on “live” wards, has already been successfully installed at one West Midlands hospital, and is being considered for several others. Static Systems’ technical director, Mike Cardew, said: “In today’s economic climate hospitals are looking to cost-effectively replace systems – many more than 25 years old – and to enhance nurse call facilities and standards of care. This upgrade brings the technology bang up-to-date, and can be installed quickly, without re-wiring.” The upgrade reportedly “more than halves the traditionally expected installation time, avoiding many of the usual issues of noise, dust, and inconvenience, associated with a conventional upgrade”.
