IFHE Europe event set for Paris

The 4th European Conference on Healthcare Engineering is taking place at the Palais des Congrès de Paris (pictured) from 30 May to 1 June.

It will be the latest in a series of bi-annual International Federation of Healthcare Engineering (IFHE) Europe events at which speakers will discuss some of the key estates and facilities topics for personnel working in the field across Europe. This year’s event, which follows successful forerunners held in Germany’s Baden-Baden in 2005, Vienna in 2007, and Goes in the Netherlands in 2009 (HEJ – November 2007 and August 2009), will be hosted by French hospital engineering organisation Ingénieurs Hospitaliers de France (IHF) in conjunction with its own 51st annual conference. Topics set to be covered by the conference presentations (the event also incorporates an exhibition) will include energy and sustainability; planning; architectural design; information and communication technology; maintenance and operational management; risk and quality management, and medical equipment and technology. The final conference programme was due to be unveiled on 1 March. Accompanying social events will include an evening of music from the Garnier Opera, and trips to Versailles and to a major art exhibition at a Paris museum. The opening dinner, on 30 May, will be held at the Palais des Congrès, while a gala dinner the following evening will take place on board one of Paris’s famous “bateaux mouches”.
