Capita Symonds has been appointed by NHS Scotland’s Health Facilities Scotland (HFS) as survey partner for Phase 2 of the implementation of an estates asset management system for the Scottish NHS estate.
It will be providing surveying services on HFS and the 22 NHS Scotland Health Boards’ behalf. The work comprises the surveying or desktop appraisal of all the NHS properties in Scotland as part of the installation of the new system, which features 3i Studio’s Estate Manager software. When populated with data, the software will identify the condition, compliance, suitability, utilisation, quality and performance of the existing property assets; quantify the costs of backlog maintenance, and identify the risks associated with the condition, compliance, and “suitability” of the property assets to enable prioritisation. Capita Symonds completed Phase One earlier this year, developing a property appraisal manual for estate asset management that has been rolled out across the NHS Scotland Health Boards.
