A complete re-fit of the Stonehouse Manor dementia care home in Dewsbury has seen furniture from the Knightsbridge Care portfolio specified for installation throughout. Following extensive refurbishment last year, Stonehouse Manor now accommodates 32 elderly residents.
For the re-fit the Plus Care Homes team turned to Knightsbridge Furniture for its expertise in designing seating, tables, bedroom storage, and occasional furniture, specific to dementia patients’ needs. Every room, including the dining room, café, and activity areas, the library, lounge, and foyer, is now fitted with furniture from the Knightsbridge Care portfolio. Each bedroom features a new-style package of Caspia cabinets, plus chairs in sizes and styles to suit residents’ needs, while corridors incorporate Knightsbridge tub chairs and occasional tables. Advocating furniture’s positive role in supporting dementia patients’ confidence and orientation, Knightsbridge product designer Catherine Hawcroft trained alongside care professionals and clinicians to develop her ideas in line with the latest research into “personcentred” dementia care.
