November’s IHEEM Healthcare Estates 2011 conference and exhibition at Manchester Central will, it is planned, see the BRE and the University College London Hospitals (UCLH) NHS Foundation Trust jointly launch a new Sustainability Portal.
The leading consultancy, testing, and training organisation for the built environment has teamed up with the estates and facilities team at the UCLH NHS Foundation Trust, which has a strong track record of carbon reduction initiatives across its own hospitals, to deliver a package of advice, consultancy, training, and related services, that the two organisations say will help NHS Trusts and other healthcare organisations reduce their carbon emissions and energy consumption, and operate more sustainably and efficiently. IHEEM CEO John Long added: “The Institute’s Call for Proposals that closed in March produced a significant number of proposed papers, ideas, and schemes, that will make this year’s IHEEM Conference and Exhibition the biggest event of its kind in the UK this year. Planning is well underway, and the organisers will roll out the conference programme and conference delegate booking arrangements in June’s Health Estate Journal. The Institute looks forward to IHEEM members and non-members alike joining together at the Manchester Central Convention Complex on the 1-2 November 2011.” For more information on Healthcare Estates 2011, and the latest breaking news, visit: www.iheem.org.uk
